Feed Grade Magnesium Oxide is a high-purity, white hygroscopic solid mineral sourced from natural magnesite or produced from magnesium-rich brine and dolomitic lime . It is specifically manufactured to serve as a bioavailable magnesium supplement in animal feed formulations. This product is odorless, non-toxic, and available in both powder and granular (prilled) forms to suit different feed manufacturing requirements .

Feed-grade MgO is characterized by its moderate chemical reactivity, quick solubility in dilute acid, and proven biological availability, ensuring that magnesium is effectively absorbed by livestock     

Key Applications

Cow:
Feed grade magnesium oxide can not only compensate for the lack of magnesium in the diet and avoid the onset of magnesium deficiency, but also is an excellent rumen buffer, regulate rumen fermentation, add the absorption of breast milk precursors, and improve milk yield and milk fat rate.Adding magnesium oxide to dairy cows' diet can prevent heat stress. Magnesium ion can work together with sodium ion and potassium ion, adhere to the balance of osmotic pressure on the cell surface, reduce the response of dairy cows to heat stress, and then increase the feed intake of dairy cows and keep the milk vield unchanged. In addition, it is advocated that in the case of heat stress, the amount of magnesium oxide in the diet should be increased to compensate for the loss of magnesium in the body, and then ensure and adhere to the normal milk output value.

Poultry:
Reborn chicks can only survive for a few days without magnesium diet. When fed low magnesium diet, chicks grow slowly, are prone to sleepiness, asthma and shortness of breath. After being frightened, they will show short-term spasm, and eventually cause temporary fainting or death.As for laying hens, the egg production will be reduced when magnesium is deficient.

Pig:
The lack of magnesium ion in the diet will increase the death rate of piglets. The lack of magnesium can lead to stepping disorder in pigs, which is reflected in the repeated lifting of the hind hoof when the pig is standing. For sows, magnesium oxide is widely used as a laxative to avoid stress syndrome such as hypersensitivity and tail biting in captive pigs.
